Program Description
Mythic Mapping: Discover the Myth of You – Microcredential
Based in Dr. Hancock’s groundbreaking dissertation, Mythic Mapping: Discover the Myth of You invites participants into an immersive, creative exploration of Jungian archetypes and the mythic patterns shaping the Self. This four-part live experience combines depth psychology, art therapy, active imagination, and personal mythology to help participants map their internal landscape and craft a living dialogue with the psyche.
Through guided discussion and hands-on creative exercises, participants will design their own Mythic Map, identify core archetypes, and begin a journey toward individuation through the art of storytelling and personalized myth-making.
Each live session weaves together 45 minutes of teaching and 45 minutes of experiential engagement, balancing conceptual depth with embodied practice. Whether you’re new to Jung or seasoned in depth work, this course offers a tangible, art-based framework for psychological insight, personal transformation, and professional application.
A dedicated purchase page for the Mythic Mapping Workbook will be available on revpameladawn.com.
This Course is ideal for:
- Professionals in counseling, chaplaincy, social work, or education seeking a creative, archetypal tool for client or self-exploration.
- Artists, writers, and mythologists interested in integrating psychological depth into their creative work.
- Spiritual directors and coaches working with symbols, dreams, and story.
- Individuals on a path of healing or transformation seeking to understand their inner mythic landscape.
- Anyone curious about Jungian psychology, active imagination, or mythic storytelling as paths to self-knowledge.
Course Overview:
Week1- Mapping the Inner Landscape: Jungian Archetypes and the Mythic Self
Explore the five core archetypes central to the Mythic Mapping system—the Child, Hero/ine, Trickster, Wise Elder, and Shadow. Learn how mythic images reveal patterns of consciousness and discover how your personal myth reflects your own individuation process.
Engagement: Archetypal reflection journaling and breakout group discussion.
Week 2— The Myth You Carry: Crafting Your Mythic Character
Dive into global myths and select the story that mirrors your own soul’s journey. Using Dr. Hancock’s explanations or the “Myth You Carry” framework, participants will craft their Mythic Self character—an active image of the psyche’s narrative in motion.
Engagement: Guided visualization and creative writing exercise.
Week 3— The Art of Mapping: Visualizing the Archetypes of the Self
In this creative session, participants will build their own visual Mythic Map—a symbolic landscape that represents the inner world. Using collage, paint, or drawing, participants translate internal archetypes into a living image.
Engagement: Art-based map creation and small group sharing.
Week 4— The First Quest: Active Imagination and the Path Forward
Experience your first Quest using your completed Mythic Map and Voyager’s Log framework. Through guided imagination, you’ll meet one of your internal archetypes and receive insight on how to continue the work beyond the course.
Engagement: Guided journey, partner dialogue, and course integration discussion.
Learning Objectives (6 CECs)
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

- Construct a personal “Mythic Map” illustrating key archetypes within one’s internal landscape.
